Answering THE CALL

For the next month, I will feature 'Call' stories from some fabulous authors. Every published author has a unique and special story about where they were when they received their call for publication - just like our 'Call' to salvation. It's special, beautiful, and especially designed just for us.

Krista, your debut novel, Sandwich With a Side of Romance, is just getting ready to break into the published world. I loved getting a chance to read it - but even more than that, I loved being able to closely follow your journey as it unfolded.

What is your Call-story?

I listened to a voicemail while I was driving. (FYI: I do not recommend this...)

I promptly pulled over at the nearest place I could find to stop, CVS Pharmacy, and pretty much freaked out, hoping that she'd called for the reason I suspected she was calling. After taking a whole lot of deep breaths... I called Ramona Richards, my editor, back and was offered a contract on Sandwich, with a Side of Romance. (Note, I secured an agent a few days later.... thus the reason I received a call from my editor and not my agent!)
